Join one of the fun-loving madams of the Red Onion Saloon   on a 2-hour guided walking tour of Skagway’s historic streets and back alleys. Where women of the evening brushed shoulders with notorious characters such as Soapy Smith and Frank Reid. Stories of Klondike Kate, Cad Wilson and Diamond Lil depict the adventurous, lusty, and sometimes tragic lives of hundreds of women who stampeded north.

Your tour will visit several cribs and districts, culminating with a stop at the restored Brothel Museum, located above the world famous Red Onion Saloon. Here, join a champagne toast and explore the halls and bedrooms of this celebrated brothel, observing original relics and images of the ladies who worked there. And, if you are lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the resident ghost, Lydia!

Recommended age to participate is 14 years old and up. A parent or legal guardian must accompany participants under the age of 21 years old.

Stop in for a tour of our lovingly restored brothel museum! One of our charming madams will make an announcement from the back stairs and whisk you and the group up the “stairway to heaven”. Walk the same floors as yesteryear’s lonely miners & ladies of negotiable affection. Hear entertaining tales of women who worked here and see the many artifacts they left behind, including a priceless silver dress. We also invite all ghost hunters to bring their cameras and see if you can capture our resident ghost! Tour includes a Red Onion souvenir garter.

Tours times are posted daily in the front window and can be purchased in our gift shop or from your server, bartender or madam. The Red Onion Saloon opens daily at 10AM and brothel tours are generally on the hour, depending on the day. Tour is $20 per person and lasts 20 minutes. Parents and guardians should use their discretion as tour material is a tad risqué and museum has several painted nude portraits.

Explore the celebrated Red Onion Saloon & Brothel Museum before it opens to the public, followed by a city tour of historic Skagway!

Hop aboard a motorcoach for a short drive over to the Red Onion Saloon! At the Saloon, a splendidly costumed Red Onion Madam greets you with a mimosa, Bloody Mary, or Klondike coffee and a souvenir garter. On a rare glimpse behind the velvet curtains, hear the stories of courageous women, past and present -- Klondike Kate, Diamond-Tooth Lil and others. You will learn about the many iterations of the Red Onion since its 1898 opening and its distinct role in Skagway's gold rush and more recent (but no less intoxicating) history.

Next, take your drink and head upstairs to the celebrated Brothel Museum for a guided tour. Explore the hallway, bedrooms, and artifacts left behind by the 'soiled doves' of yesteryear.

Back aboard your motorcoach, journey over to the Gold Rush Cemetery – the final resting place of some of the more colorful characters of the Klondike Gold Rush. Afterwards your driver guide will take you to Skagway’s overlook! From the lookout, photograph the sweeping view of the Skagway Valley, glacier-clad mountains, Lynn Canal, and your cruise ship.
